The Experience At Crystal Basin Cellars
Our Story
Founder Mike Owen’s family made wine at home off and on since 1977. Upon moving to the foothills, Mike dug out the basement of his parent’s house in 1981 so wine could be made from local grapes. After taking the reins in 1988, Mike led a group towards a production level reaching up to 20 barrels under the house. With Melissa’s support. the goal of commercial production was attained in 2000 at Gold Hill Vineyard and this period lasted until 2006. The winery Then moved to its current location on Carson Road in Camino’s Apple Hill. The winery thrived and grew through a 7,000 case production level and successive vintages won streaks of Gold medals at major competitions. The winery is well supported by a large number of passionate wine club members and aspires to show the best wines the El Dorado fruit can create.

Join Crystal Basin Cellars Wine Club
You’re not just joining a Crystal Basin Wine Club – you’re joining our family. Most of our club members pick up their wines at one of our two locations based on their own schedule. We also feature a carefully-curated wine club shipping program where wines get shipped to your doorstep each spring and fall.
All club members receive exclusive discounts, special event invitations, and more swag and goodies when you sign up. But, we get told all the time that the best part of a Crystal Basin Wine Club Membership is visiting the tasting rooms, catching up with our lively staff and connecting with other Club Members from an amazing range of diverse backgrounds.
CBC Wine Clubs have a unique feature! You can select the wines you want to take home if the wines in our club releases don’t suit your fancy. You will always take home wines you want to enjoy.
