Winemaker's Notes: This wine is truly another Victorious achievement for Crystal Basin Cellars. We performed many tasting trials over the 18 months our wines typically age and found the unique blend for this year's wine to be 33% Mourvedre, 34% Syrah and 33% Grenache.
The Grenache floods your nasal passages with rich ripe strawberry while the mid palette is structured with the Mourvedre and its blueberry overtones and the Syrah's backbone continues a meaty smokiness to this wine creating a long and layered finish.
Our Victorie was awarded the Best of Class of Region at the 2011 California State Fair along with a Gold Medal. It also garnered a Silver Medal at the 2011 Orange County Fair.
When you taste this wine, you will understand why Victorie is all too rare in France!
