The classic flavors that make Chardonnay the king of Burgundy arebeautifully represented here in this wine. It is has hints of tropical fruit and kiwi, full and round in the mouth and is oaked "just a bit" to bring nuances of vanilla carry through to the crisp finish.
The Chardonnay vines at Gold Hill are over 30 years old and are producing their best fruit ever. Cool breezes over the American River canyon bring a tantalizing fresh element to the tropical elements and there is just enough grapy sweetness to carry through with traditional white wine foods.
We like to drink Chard on warm days and with our cheese and bread thing before dinner. We like to grill fish and veggies and enjoy them with Chard on the patio. Use it when you make risotto!
